According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of completing the signing of highly-rated Barcelona academy midfielder Pedro “Dro” Fernández during the current January 2026 transfer window.
The 18-year-old Spanish talent, considered one of La Masia’s brightest prospects in recent years, has a release clause of just €6 million, an amount PSG are ready to pay to secure his services.
Romano reports that a verbal agreement is already in place between the player and the French champions. Fernández is set to sign a long-term contract, understood to run until 2030 according to several French media reports, seeing the move as a perfect opportunity to gain regular first-team minutes and work under head coach Luis Enrique, who played a key role in convincing the youngster to join.
Fernández has yet to fully break into Barcelona’s first team this season, which accelerated his decision to seek minutes elsewhere.
The transfer represents another painful academy loss for Barcelona, who continue to see promising talents depart due to the club’s ongoing financial difficulties.
The deal is expected to be made official within the coming hours or days, making Pedro “Dro” Fernández PSG’s first signing of the winter transfer window.
