Manchester City have officially completed the signing of England international defender Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace in a winter transfer window move.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 25 year old centre back has joined the club for a fee of £20 million (potentially rising with add ons), representing excellent value given his previous market valuation well above £50m.

Guéhi has signed a long term contract until the summer of 2031 a deal of five and a half years and becomes City's second signing of the January 2026 window following the arrival of Antoine Semenyo.

The former Crystal Palace captain arrives at a perfect moment to strengthen Pep Guardiola's defensive options, with Ruben Dias, Joško Gvardiol and John Stones all having faced injury issues at various points this season.

An established England international with 26 caps, Guéhi was a key figure in the Three Lions' run to the Euro 2024 final and is widely regarded as one of the Premier League's most complete young defenders, combining physical strength, tactical intelligence and natural leadership.

The deal ends months of speculation, with Liverpool coming closest to signing him last summer before the move collapsed, while Arsenal and Bayern Munich had also shown strong interest the latter reportedly preparing to sign him on a free transfer next summer.
